Who is Needle and Fire Workshop?

Hi! We’re Michael and Tabatha Reeves, and we call Arkansas home. We live here with our two kids — Alaina, a sophomore at Arkansas Tech, and Logan, a sophomore in high school.
Michael retired from the Army in 2022 and now teaches high school JROTC. I (Tabatha) started Twisted Lane Candles back in 2017 as a creative outlet I absolutely loved.
In 2021, life threw me a curveball — I was diagnosed with Alpha-Gal Syndrome, along with a few other health issues. I kept the candle business going until February 2024, when our barn caught fire. We lost tools, some of our animals, and a lot of storage. The candle shop turned into a makeshift storage shed, and my focus started to shift.
As my health continued to decline, my doctors encouraged me to find a different path. Around that same time, I discovered a new passion — sewing and quilting. Evenings at our dining room table became my favorite part of the day. Meanwhile, Michael was busy creating laser-cut projects for friends, family, and his students. Somewhere along the way, we started dreaming about combining our skills into one business — something built around sewing, quilting, and laser-cut creations.
In May 2025, our barn was rebuilt. But this time, it wasn’t just a barn. With sheetrock, paint, and dedicated work areas, it became a true creative space. We moved all the sewing equipment and supplies out there, and it’s been amazing to watch it come to life.
Right now, we’re clearing out the old candle shop to turn it into a classroom and retreat space. We’re planning to host classes in quilting, sewing, embroidery, and wreath-making, and we’ll have fabric, notions, and other craft supplies available. That’s why we haven’t announced class dates yet — we’re still getting everything ready!
Needle & Fire Designs is more than just a business to us. It’s a story of loss, change, and resilience — and a way to keep creating while sharing that creativity with others. We’re so excited for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our space.
