About Us
Needle & Fire Workshop is a family-run creative business owned and operated by Michael and Tabatha in Arkansas.
We’re parents to two kids, one in college and one in high school, and before Needle & Fire, we spent nine years owning and operating a candle manufacturing company. That experience shaped how we work today: we understand production, systems, and the difference between designing something and actually making it work day after day.
Needle & Fire grew out of the creative work we were already doing—sewing, embroidery, quilting, laser cutting, and teaching—and eventually became the business that asked for our full attention.
Who We Are
Tabatha leads the studio's creative side. Her work centers on sewing, quilting, embroidery, wreath-making, and textile-based projects. She designs the pieces, selects the materials, and handles construction and finishing, with a focus on function, durability, and thoughtful details rather than trends or mass appeal.
Michael focuses on the technical and structural side of the business. He designs laser-cut products and digital files, builds and maintains production workflows, and handles the systems that keep a small, multi-discipline studio organized and efficient. He also supports class setup, documentation, and logistics.
Together, we design what we sell and teach what we make.
How We’re Set Up
Needle & Fire isn’t a single room—it’s a working setup spread across our property.
-
The sewing and embroidery studio is housed in our barn
-
The classroom is located near our home and is where most instruction takes place
-
Michael’s workspace and laser shop operate out of our home
It’s not a showroom or a warehouse. It’s a working compound where ideas move from sketch to prototype to finished piece, often crossing spaces along the way.
What We Do
We don’t outsource production. Every product and kit we sell is designed, tested, and made by us.
That includes finished goods, project kits, and physical components built from the same materials and processes we use in our own work. Our supplies reflect what we actively use and trust, not generic inventory chosen to fill shelves.
Our classes are led by us or by invited instructors whose work and teaching approach align with how we operate—hands-on, practical, and project-driven. When we bring someone in to teach, it’s because we value their work and believe it fits our space and students.
What You’ll Find Here
Our offerings shift throughout the year, but generally include:
-
Handmade goods produced in small batches or as one-of-a-kind pieces
-
Creative kits built from real studio projects
-
Sewing, embroidery, and craft supplies we actively use and recommend
-
Digital laser-cutting files developed from practical use, not abstract templates
-
Classes, workshops, and retreats focused on approachable, skill-building projects
Because everything starts in the studio, availability changes. That’s intentional.
Why We Do It This Way
We believe making and teaching belong together.
Selling finished work shows what’s possible. Teaching the process gives people the confidence to try it themselves—or simply understand the work better. Needle & Fire exists in that overlap.
It’s a small space, real tools, and honest work—done carefully and taught the same way.
